From the very first stirrings of my heart, a deep sensitivity and a natural reaching across cultures have been woven into the fabric of my being by the language of stories, immortally captured by your great novelists and poets. Their words have opened my eyes to the quiet beauty of your secret gardens, the steadfast heart of your ancient castles and the lingering echoes in your sacred, remembered places.
